When I read fanfiction about Harry Potter (the boy), I prefer young Harry, either 3rd year or younger. Maybe that's because I read a lot of Snape/Harry father/son fics, and the older Harry gets the more issues they have.
Daniel Radcliffe is also cute when he is younger

yeah I completely understand that. My favorite books of the series are when he is younger.
Have you ever read The Best Revenge on fanfiction.net? if not I think you would like it! i highly recommend it. It's Snape/Harry father figure fic. It's fantastic.

i honestly think most people like snape because of his past and love for Lily. like if you dont love snape youre pretty heartless. somewhere inbetween his past and hilarious (but mean) teaching (i only find it hilarous because he is so serioius. i would be laughing so hard in that class). snape is just life. he is so amazing. everytime i watch the part where he dies, i die too. at least a little bit inside of me.

As you all well know... Snape is my favorite character. I love him because of his character. He's dark and mysterious. He's dangerous. I too, would probably laugh myself silly in his class. XD But his love for Lily drove him to do crazy things. He sacrificed EVERYTHING for her son because he loved her that much, and felt that he owed her everything after what he did. He spent his entire life trying to make up for that mistake and I just... Gah I love his character so much. XD
Harry/Snape father/son fics are great. I read one called "Because You're Mine" once, and it's what really got me to like that kind of fics. I would highly recommend it. I think it's by Ms Padfoot on ff.net.

I liked Snape before I knew anything about his past (well, at the end of book 1, we find out that James saved his life, but that's it). I like him because he's intriguing. I like his Slytherin-ness - NOT meaning because he is Slytherin but because, unlike the overabundance of Gryffindor characters, he's actually mysterious, subtle, and thinks things through. He doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve (to say the least). Heck, he died without even one person suspecting his true alliance. So when people say he "died a Gryffindor," I WANT TO SCREAM! He's a Slytherin until the end - brave, yes, but still Slytherin.
I didn't really care for his love for Lily. I mean, from a story standpoint, I like it. And it's sweet and tragic, and it works for his character. But I don't like that it makes him seem weak. Almost like he becomes nothing but a tragic, romantic character.
Oh, yes, Snape is so funny. But there's no way I would laugh if I actually had class with him. I have a horrific case of having to please the teacher. So much, I have no doubt that he would make me cry. Not because I would give him reason to hate me, but because even nice teachers make me cry. It's rather embarrassing.

I must admit, I didn't really like Snape until the last few books. I then re-read the books and found little things I missed that made me like him more.

The entire time through the books, I was thinking "What is this guy's problem with Harry?" But now I have a great appreciation for him. I have characters that I like more than him, but he is one of my favorites.

I know! One of my friends loved Snape and my response was always "Why?". I also have characters I like more then him but he is on the list.

The only character I love more than Snape is Luna. And I love Luna. Like I have a big squish on her that makes me have so much affection for her (as a person and as a character).

At the top of my list would be Lupin. I sobbed when he died; my sister walked into the room to find me in the middle of my bed, snot and tears running down my face and an empty box of tissues. Of course, she laughed at me.

I liked Lupin in POA, but then it felt like he abandoned Harry and just kinda felt weak in general. Buuut I really didn't like that he died. Particularly because the only reason Rowling did that was to make Teddy an orphan.

Snape is the top of my list, but I think Draco comes in at a very close second. I feel for him. I don't think the books really did him justice, but the movies made him more... Human. They showed that he went from being that cocky little kid in SS, to barely keeping things together in HBP and DH.
"I have to do this. I HAVE to kill you. Or he's gonna kill me." ... That line gets me every time. I just want to scoop him up and hug him and tell him everything is going to be alright.

Draco definitely had his moments, but he was never one of my top favourites. I just never got really attached to him.

I didn't like Draco at all until HBP. His character really took a turn then. And then I was soooo disappointed with his character in DH. His character just went no where. No where! I get it - Rowling wanted to show that he wasn't evil but neither was he a "hero." But really? I wanted to see development of his character, a chance for him to grow up. And for Draco and Harry to have a better moment of reconciliation (stealing Draco's wand and then saving his life... eh). I wanted Slytherin to have its moment too, and Draco is the young generation representation of Slytherin. But nope... nothing. Narcissa got a better moment with Harry than Draco did.

Hermione is my all time favorite, because she is a lot like me. She is smart and bookish, and sensible, and is called a know it all, but she keeps Harry and Ron on track, because they would do some stupid things if it weren't for her, like harry would of gone after the hallows, if hermione wouldn't of argued against it. I have to admit, I do love Luna Lovegood, with her funny little sayings, and quirks, half the things she says makes me burst out laughing.
