Do they come from an outside Muse? From sheer brain power? Can you summon them by will? Or do you always have the floating around your head?
I know I struggle with this. I don't seem to have any story ideas. I know I'm a decent writer, and I have the knowledge of what makes a good story (I'm an excellent critic). But story ideas? I have none.
Well, that's not actually true. I have ideas for stories in the Harry Potter World. But I'm wanting to be a screenwriter, not a fanfiction writer. (I love fanfiction but that won't get me to where I want to go.)
Anyone have any advice?

Oh, I struggle with coming up with ideas. Original ideas. I can take a few words and make them my own, like a prompt, but it's hard to come up with my own stuff. Well, that's not entirely true now that I think about it. I have plenty of ideas, but my REAL problem is putting them into words on paper.
What my advice is, whenever you DO get inspiration, find a pen and paper or whip out a laptop and just write till you can't think of anything else. Or take the idea and make an outline of what you want the story/script to be and go from there. It's always good to have a plan and not dive into it headfirst.
